Ms. Delmaine's Thought Provoking Quote

"Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution, one make the revolution to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power." --George Oswell.

I agree with the statement that power is never intended, however it is always an outcome. Simply for the fact that one has to attempt to grasp it, it is not given to anyone, you must take it. Everything has a purpose. However, considering the fact that sometimes the purpose has nothing to do with the action, it's not always justified. Power goes to people's heads. It's inevitable. And when people achieve power, others are hurt by it. Syria is a perfect example. The government has too much power, they're hurting their own citizens! People are dying, there are parentless children, and the country is falling apart. Why? Because someone abused their power.
