Mrs. Delamine's Thought Provoking Quote

"Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it." What does he mean by this? Where is there evidence of this in the book 1984? Where is there evidence of this in our society? Do you agree with him and why?" --George Orwell

I believe that quote. Because everyone feels like they need to be better than someone else in order to have a purpose, and that's not true. You shouldn't need everyone's eyes just to feel seen, because there's always someone watching you. Especially in the book 1984. Parsons is the perfect example! He's glorifying his kids for something that is a major crime in our society! They're running around setting people on fire and turning people over to thought police and everything else that's bad in everyone's mind, and they're getting praised for it! Like dang, seriously?
